24 hours in London

After you have ticked off all the touristy landmarks in London, why not go a bit off the beaten track and explore something different. Here are our tips for an additional 24 hours in London. And thanks to this years leap year we can actually make use of it!

Grab some grub at borough Market

Grab a delicious breakfast or tasty lunch at Borough Market, known for its independent food stalls and little delicatessen shops.  While you are there why not head to the Shard for its breathtaking views over London?  Borough Market and the Shard are literally next to each other.

Closest tube: Borough Market or London Bridge

Catch a West end show

It’s a fantastic evening of musical theatre. Most of the shows have tickets available on the day. Just pick your favourite and head down to the box office for a fab deal. Tina - the musical in Aldwych is a fantastic show with great songs and amazing dancing. Tickets for the stalls start from £15 – a real bargain.

Closest tube: For Tina the musical: Holborn, Temple or Covent Garden: most theatres are around Covent Garden

Cruise on The River Thames

Take a river cruise for a different perspective of London's landmarks from the water. You can catch the Thames Clipper from Greenwich which drops you just right out of Big Ben/Embankment after 50 minutes on the Thames. You can pay with the Oyster card or your contactless payment card, just don’t forget to tap out! Single fares start from £9.80.

Visit a pub

Wrap up your night by visiting a traditional London pub for a taste of the local atmosphere. Why not head down to Notting Hill Gate and stroll down Kensington Church Street to enjoy a pint or two at the famous Churchill Arms, one of the most iconic pubs in London?

Walk a London Canal

Despite it being a cosmopolitan metropole, London feels quite small at times and is easily walkable. So why not get your walking shoes on and walk along London’s many canals to explore hidden gems in architecture, end up in interesting places like Litte Venice or even finish your walk right up in the heart of Camden?
